Peter Wittrich was born in the upper bavarian town Freising on 1959. After he finished his Abitur, he studied teacher-training courses at the college of Music in Munich. Later, he began studying composition under Prof. Dieter Acker. He then completed his studies with a „Meisterklassen-degree.
After a short time as a teacher, he began a full-time docentship for music theory at the University of Music and Drama in Munich in 1989. Since 2004, he holds a professor position formusic theory and practical school piano playing.
He received many first and second rankings for sacred and secular choir pieces, as well as works for organ, piano and orchestra, which are the focus of his musical creations.
