Oleg Bezborodko is a ukrainian pianist and composer, musicologist and educator. His works have been performed throughout the world: from the United States to China. After studying piano and composition in Ukraine and Switzerland he obtained a Ph.D. degree from the Ukrainian National Academy of Music and now holds a post of full-time associate professor (piano classes) at that institution. Performances of his music include those by ensemble musikFabrik, pianists Stephen Gutman and Roglit Ishay, violinist Dima Tkachenko, Orest Smovzh and Loussine Azizian. Both as pianist and composer Mr. Bezborodko cooperated with all major ukrainian orchestras and such renowned conductors as Roman Kofman, Kirill Karabits, Bogodar Kotorovych and Volodymyr Sirenko. Prizewinner of many national and international piano competitions and scholarships, Mr. Bezborodko is in high demand as an interpreter of contemporary music and as a chamber musician.
In 2008 the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture awarded Oleg Bezborodko with the Levko Revutsky Music Prize. Commissions include those from Goethe-Institut and Ernst fon Siemens Musikstiffung, Ukranian National Academic Concert Band, Musica Mundi Frankfurt, Tatyana Masurenko. Recently Oleg's works have been selected through calls for scores by New Muse Piano Duo for their US universities tour and by the Florida State University New Music Festival.
