Marc-Aurel Floros was born in Hamburg. He studied piano, composition and musicology in Lübeck and Hamburg. He studied in Paris and New York, both as composer and pianist.
He composes solo works, chamber music, orchestra pieces and operas. He sees the focus of his work in great orchestral fantasies.
Works (selection): 2006/2008 Gala Gala (opera), Cologne and Giessen. 2010, Zwischenträume, (orchestra of the MDR). 2011 Nureyev's dog (Ballet), Opera Koblenz. 2015, his opera Adriana was premiered at the Rheinsberg Festival. 2016, Cranach (Orchestral Fantasy), Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra. 2018, Luther, Palatinate Orchestra and Faal Baust (opera), Rheinsberg. For 2020 the world premiere of Barbarossa by the Palatinate Orchestra of the City of Kaiserlautern is in preparation.
