Born in Basel, Switzerland.
Early theory and composition instructions. He studied piano with Jürg Wyttenbach and composition with Rudolf Kelterborn and Detlev Müller-Siemens at the Musikhochschule Basel, masterclasses with Pierre-Laurent Aimard (Piano), Helmut Lachenmann, Klaus Huber and Christian Wolff (Composition).
Preformances in Europe, USA, Asia (Goethe-Institut) and Australia.
He won the Gerarer-Orchesterpreis in 2003 and the Stuttgarter-Orchesterwerkstatt Prize (SWR) in 2006.
With the recommendation of Peter Eötvös, he was invited to live in the Herrenhaus Edenkoben, Germany, in 2008.
He co-founded CHAOTIC MOEBIUS a platform for New and Experimental Music and is member ot the board at ISCM Basel.
