Julius' pronounced interest in music became apparent very early on. He received his first piano lessons at the age of six. Two years later he also received his first cello lessons. During this time he was already composing.
Julius' musical work has received several awards, including the Bruno Frey Music Prize. In 2018 he was awarded the Federal Prize Jugend komponiert, the highest award for young composers in Germany. Several of his compositions have already been premiered at the Arnold-Schönberg-Center in Vienna, as well as in Regensburg, Paderborn, Stuttgart and Weikersheim.
