Hans-Henning Ginzel (* 1988) is a composer and cellist.
In Munich he studied composition with Prof. Jan Müller-Wieland and currently with Prof. Moritz Eggert (Master). Participation in master classes with Wolfgang Rihm, Hans Zender and Jörg Widmann followed.
Ginzel has received numerous international awards, including first prize in the Harald Genzmer composition competition. Ginzel is published by CF Peters and M Music Publishing and is art. Head of the concert series # Listen # Out . As a participant in festivals such as EVIMUS, Grafenegg , Festival of the Hugo Wolf Academy , aDevantgarde , Weidener-Max-Reger-Days etc. it is also performed internationally.
As a composer and cellist he worked with Steve Reich, the Arditti Quartet, the Pluralensemble, Michaela Haslam, the Ensemble Avantgarde and Markus Wolf. Important performers have performed his music (ur); among others the Tonkünstlerorchester Niederösterreich, Wolfgang Meyer, Steffen Schleiermacher, Ensemble Oktopus, Michael Hartmann, Holger Falk, Markus Bellheim and the Carmina Quartet.
In 2016 Ginzel wrote the music for the documentary Putin's secret network (ZDF-frontal21) which was nominated for the best documentary at the German television award. His works have been broadcast on BR Klassik, DRadio, ORF and SWR, among others. His CDs were awarded the highest rating and CD tip of the week by among others Klassik-heute . The focus of his work is on chamber music, orchestral works, electro-acoustic music, interdisciplinary projects and music for film and TV.
As a cellist, Ginzel won several instrumental competitions and received numerous scholarships and sponsorship awards, including from the LH Munich. He completed his studies with Prof. Helmar Stiehler in Munich and with Prof. Iagoba Fanlo in Madrid with diploma and master's degrees with top marks (1.0). As the founder and member of the Arcis Cello Quartet, cellist of the Breakout ensemble and the GinzelDuello ensemble , Ginzel performs nationally and internationally. He has also made a name for himself as an interpreter of contemporary music as a soloist and chamber music partner. He made his debut as a soloist at the age of sixteen. The international release (Sony Classical, Naxos) of the CD GinzelDuello will take place in October 2017 on the solo musica label.
Ginzel is currently supported as a soloist and chamber music partner by the Munich agency Königsweg .
