He took classical piano lessons from the age of five.
He is an autodidact in Jazz since 1970. He is the co-founder of the Jazz Department of the Music School Bonn. He worked with several bands on many compositions in fusion jazz afterwards.
From the beginning of the 80's and for 15 years he composed music for all major TV stations in Germany.
From 2000 onwards he worked on the piano solo project Forgotten Fantasies followed with improvisations on classical works.
In 2015 the World Jazz Trio Cool Paxx was formed with exclusively original compositions of the band members.
Fried Bauer has lived in Bonn Bad Godesberg since 1970.
