Born in Solingen, music has always been present in Elias Jurgschat, since childhood. Since 2015 he studied composition with Manfred Trojahn at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. Between 2012 and 2014 there has always been contact, exchange, feedback, and suggestions from the Wuppertal composer Thomas Beimel. From the winter semester 2017/18 he continues his studies at the Music Academy Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with Mark Andre.
In 2015, Elias Jurgschat was competing at the Bundeswettberb Jugend der Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland, where he was a prize winner.
In May 2016, he participated in the composition seminar in the Music Academy Rheinsberg in the context of the Pfingstwerkstatt Neue Musik , where he received the 2nd prize for his work Einblick.
At the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb 2017 he was awarded the Composition Prize of Deutschlandfunk for his work suchen for flute, soprano, cello and piano. In the same year he was in August selected participants of the composition seminar of the Lucerne Festival Academy.
