Christian was born in Bonn and is a student at the Kardinal-Frings-Gymnasium in Beuel. Since 2009 he has received piano lessons from Christine Gerwig and Efraín González, Königswinter. He became interested in composition at an early age and since 2011 he has received composition lessons from Thomas Taxus Beck at the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne. Since 2013 he has received organ lessons from Michael Bottenhorn, Beuel.
Christian Brandenburger is several times 1st prize winner at the Competition Jugend musiziert in regional, state and national competitions (piano solo, organ solo, various duos) and prize winner of other piano competitions. He is a multiple recipient of the first prize of the State Competition Jugend komponiert NRW 2013, 2015 and 2017 and a second prize winner of the Orchestra Composition Competition of the Hochschule Osnabrück 2014. He is a three-time winner of the Federal Competition Jugend komponiert (2013, 2017 and 2018) and has already participated twice in the Orchesterwerkstatt Halberstadt, where he received the Prize of the German Orchestra Foundation in 2017 and the Andreas-Werkmeister-Preis of the City of Halberstadt in 2018. Two of his orchestral works have been performed by the school orchestras and choirs of the Kardinal-Frings-Gymnasium. As a pianist and organist, Christian Brandenburger has performed in the Bonn area (e.g. during the Beethoven Festival, the Bonn Organ Festival and in the chamber music hall of the Beethoven-Haus). His works are regularly performed at the Cologne youth music festival Zett_Emm.
