Born in Opladen, Andreas Wagner is a member of various improvisation ensembles, and is furthermore active in the fields of video, sound sculpture, and the visual arts. He studied composition at the Music Conservatory Cologne with Professor Johannes Frisch. He works as a saxophonist, clarinettist, and live-electronics with freely improvised music and New Music in various formations. The spectrum of his compositions reaches from exactly notated music - from solo and orchestral works to electronic - to open forms (Fraktale I-X) and concepts involving the space where the work is performed as well as the audience itself.
