Description
The second work by the Greek composer, Nickos Harizanos, Monographs II, follows up, where Monographs I left off with the same amount of movements: 7.
Again with rather descriptive titles, such as “Conversation of a new era” and “Spirits of the Lake” the music travels both the pianist and the audience in new and unregistered territories! Mr. Harizanos, utilized new techniques in playing the piano, through the placement of various items inside the piano, creating harmonics, plucking the strings, and the extended use of all three pedals.
Regardless of the above, perhaps intimidating description, the result is always very musical and, as mentioned above, aids the pianist and the audience alike to tavel to a new land, a land that’s filled with monographs…
