Description
Aluz is the mixture of two words in Castilian: Alud (Avalanche) and Luz (Light), being these two ideas what inspired the composition of this score.
This work was written in 2009 and revised in the summer of 2011, on the occasion of its release under the International Composition Course Villafrance del Bierzo in Spain.
In essence, it is a melody with a linear development, accompanied by a constant harmonic flow. A classical form with a slow onset, rougher intermediate section and a slow conlusion again.
Although the work is atonal, I tried to avoid the dark character, whish is sometimes typical of the dissonance, trying to get closer to a harmony that would allow expressing the initial idea, in an almost impressionistic concept.
This actually being my first work, I wanted to run away of any technical charges and look for expressive freedom, but maybe it is inevitable to find influences from those great composers who have contributed so much to the piano literature.
